Probably my most favorite pair of boots. These were a congratulations present to myself for finishing the New York City Marathon. I couldn’t resist the starburst studs and the slouchy suede. Sometimes I wear them pulled up over the knee, sometimes I squish them down. I only wish they had a higher heel!

I couldn’t wait any longer. With no reprieve from winter in sight, I did the only thing I could: layer, layer, layer.

This dress was one of my NOLA finds and I’ve been (foolishly) waiting for warmer temps to wear it. Honestly, I’ve been eager to wear anything but jeans. Since it was finally dry enough that I didn’t have to worry about puddle jumping at every corner, I traded my winter uniform for a little spring cheer. And with two sweaters, wooly tights and tall boots, I managed to stay warm (enough).

Another day at the office. I picked up this dress for next to nothing since I had a gift card that I won at the office holiday party. Last year I bought boots, this year a dress–not bad! This dress has a lot of potential for layering and accessorizing, and will probably be in heavy rotation for a while. I love the pockets. They fall into the gathers, not bulky at all. I added a little sparkle with the pin at my waist and the barrette. Now that my hair is getting longer, it’s time to start having some fun trying out new styles and hair accessories.

This past week of winter temps has left me longing for warm fuzzy sweaters and super soft fabrics. None of which I own! Instead, I pulled together a super casual work outfit. This shirt (last seen here) has ruffled hem that falls at an odd length. This time around, I tucked in it for a slimmer look. This jacket is a fav holdover from my professional-attire days and matches the little bit of red in the peacock feathers. I pulled these suede boots out of the give-away pile. I can’t make my mind up about them, so I guess I’ll hold on to them a little while longer. To be honest, the sole is pretty thin, which means I really feel the cold sidewalks when walking around the city.

Rushing out the door this morning, I noticed I had grabbed brown tights instead of black. Turns out, they really make the outfit and show off my new favorite shoes.

As for the Gap wedges, I LOVE LOVE LOVE these shoes. Despite the 4 1/2″ heel, they are super comfortable. Everyone has been asking, and I say I could easily walk miles in them. In fact, I think I did today while running errands. I will be wearing these beauties a lot……

I kept this outfit simple to show off the scarf and earrings. This scarf is one of my favorite pieces. I’m a sucker for anything having to do with tattoos. There are so many colors, it goes with everything. I’m always chilly, so I like to grab a scarf on my way out the door. I kept the edgy feel with the chain fringe earrings (too bad they get lost in the curls!) and layers of necklaces. To the usual suspects I added a triple-strand chain headband that works beautifully as a necklace.
Check out my new fav nailcolor (OPI’s Eiffel for the Color) up close!
